The reading room was established in 1996, and the library was founded in 1997. Affiliated with the Kerala State Library Council, this vibrant cultural center upholds high standards through its dynamic programs and rich library collection, serving as a hub of knowledge and community engagement
For years, the villagers of Chemmaravayal had dreamed of establishing a well-equipped reading room and library. Twenty-five years ago, a group of dedicated young individuals came together with a shared vision. Through their hard work and determination, they turned this dream into reality. The result was the creation of Chemmaravayal Pothujana Vayanasala & Grandhalayam, the village’s first cultural institution. This landmark serves as a symbol of selfless dedication and a shining example of community-driven compassion.
